Coming Together to Make a Difference

On Sunday October 1st, Arts into Action and the Frankfort-Schuyler Rachel's Challenge Friends of Rachel Club teamed up to bake almost 500 cookies and about 100 containers of cookies of which we distributed to the homeless in the Syracuse area. These containers of cookies also held a note inside that read: "We hope you enjoy these cookies. Please take the container, as well, to keep other foods you receive fresh. Please know that the there are people out there who care about you, because you are important. No matter how tough times may seem, never forget that you are not alone. Continue fighting, stay strong, and keep positivity in your heart and mind. Kindness is what makes the world go around, so spread it whenever and wherever you can. In the wise words of Rachel Joy Scott: "I had my ups and downs and I fell a few times, but I did not give up. Don't give up..." We had such a great time collaborating with the Friends of Rachel Club. The students were great to work with and really had helping disadvantaged people on their mind. A total of about twenty Frankfort-Schuyler students, fifteen total Arts into Action volunteers between cookie making and distributing, and a common goal, got the job done! We hope to partner again with them in the future, and also partner with other school groups and organizations in Central New York!
