Do Good, It Doesn't Take Much!

Yesterday I did something that did not take much time out of my day, and I wanted to share it with hopes of people passing it on and helping others as well. Yesterday morning I baked some oatmeal raisin cookies that were supposed to be for my parents and my girlfriend. In the process of making them I realized that I had enough ingredients to make more than just the one batch.

Now, if you do not know already, I was inspired to start Arts into Action by the increasing poverty and homeless rates in Syracuse because they are one of the worst city poverty rates in the entire country. And it just so happened I had to go out to Syracuse yesterday for a few meetings. So with the 1,264,287 random containers we have stuffed in a drawer in my house, I put them and my cookies to use with a little positivity as well. So I wrote a short note that I printed out and I filled as many containers as I could with this note in each of them and I stuffed an equal amount of waters in a cooler.

So heading to Syracuse I managed to have 7 containers of 4 cookies each with a positive message in it and 7 bottles of water. And I must say the reactions of the people I met yesterday, were ecstatic!! Not to mention the joy you feel when you make somebody's day who didn't think they were going to eat today. This took me not even a half an hour to prep, so I hope you will take this little story of mine and make it into your own experience with people who are not as fortunate as you and me.

It's been a hard summer for them. It has either down poured, or been scorching hot. Imagine not having shelter. This is a small thing you could do that makes a big difference. Have a great day everyone!
